About Dr. Meag
Who I Am
Hi, I’m Dr. Meag Purdy. I’m a licensed naturopathic physician that specializes in helping people feel their absolute best. After years of general practice, I noticed a hole in healthcare. I saw patient after patient coming to me after being ignored for their symptoms like fatigue, anxiety, and depression. I knew that we were more than our lab results and that we were capable of feeling great, all the time.
I pivoted my practice toward going the extra mile for patients and working with them until they see satisfying results. I love being a constant resource for patients who are struggling to navigate their own healthcare and know which interventions are right for them.
I strive to empower them to take control of their own health and thrive.
How I Got Here
I grew up in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas as a competitive soccer player and runner. I attended Texas Woman’s University where I received a Biology degree with a minor in Women’s Studies. I began an outside sales career directly following college but never felt that fulfillment in my career. I had no idea what to do next so I moved across the world to teach English in Korea for 18 months.
While there, I was exposed to spicy food, hikes with real elevation, and herbal medicine all for the first time. It was this time that inspired me to move to Portland, Oregon for naturopathic school. I’m currently living in Salt Lake City, Utah with my husband, twin daughters, and two rescue pups.
While my toddlers occupy most of my free time these days, I still find time for my favorite hobbies: crossfit, fostering dogs, and consuming craft beer.
Philosophy
I believe my patients. Full stop. If they say there is something going on, we work until we figure it out. We know our bodies better than anyone else. I believe food is the most healing medicine available to us. I believe in body positivity. I believe that healthcare is so much more than offering a pill for every complaint. I believe that laughter is the best medicine. Dancing is second best.
